HEAL To Win is a growing movement building initiative to unite our communities behind honest, equitable, safe and fully funded public education. HEAL To Win equips educators, students and families to combat the divide-and-conquer politics pitting our communities against each other by uniting neighbors around a vision for strong public schools that will help all children thrive. By focusing on robust organizing, civic engagement and voter education that starts at the school board level, HEAL to Win supports movement building rooted in local communities to promote, protect and strengthen public education as a cornerstone for inclusive democracy.
Race Forward Action launched HEAL To Win as an initiative to build the necessary organizing infrastructure at both the school district and state levels for the inextricably connected struggles ahead for racial justice, democracy and public education. This work builds upon the HEAL Together initiative led by Race Forward in partnership with the NYU Metro Center and the Schott Foundation For Public Education.
We believe the struggle to protect, promote and strengthen public education for the sake of our future democracy is the most critical fight of our generation and are seeking to connect with as many aligned national, state and local groups to collaborate in this effort as we can.
